This mural is one of four that graces the third floor of Haag Hall. Former University of Kansas City Art Professor Joseph A. Fleck painted the series, “Campus Scenes, 1943–1944.”

Students helped affix the murals to the walls, and the Class of 1944 provided the marble wainscoting underneath. Each painting represents a different season. The fall scene depicts students enjoying a day by the old duck pond, which was located at the corner of 51st and Rockhill (near today’s Flarsheim Hall). The pond was eventually drained in the mid-70s.
