Warren Erdman ended his six-year term on the University of Missouri System Board of Curators in early 2013, but not without his share of media coverage. From system president searches and changes in the system’s pension plan, to a statewide tobacco tax referendum and conference realignment for the University of Missouri in Columbia, the Board of Curators has tackled high-profile issues. As Erdman prepared to step down and focus on his role as executive vice president of administration and corporate affairs at Kansas City Southern, he says he will remain tied to UMKC, which he says is entering its golden years. Gov. Jay Nixon appointed John R. Phillips to replace Erdman on the Board of Curators. Phillips is a partner at Husch Blackwell.
