by Amanda Bertholf // Fall 2011

The university has demolished the 40-year-old Oak Street Parking Structure and will replace it with a new facility that has more than double the capacity. The new garage will open next fall and include elevators and elevated pedestrian bridges to provide a safe and accessible route to different areas on campus. The structure will include sustainable design features, such as covered and secure bike storage, showers for bike riders and a dozen electric vehicle charging stations. Visitors are asked to give themselves extra time when parking on campus during construction.
