Fossil

Keichousaurus hui, a marine reptile and the earliest known dinosaur, had large paddle-shaped feet used to propel itself through shallow water. It lived during the Triassic period (201 million to 251 million years ago) and was a carnivore. Eyeball this fossil and other ancient treasures in person at the Richard L. Sutton, Jr., M.D. Museum of Geosciences in Flarsheim Hall. Long-time museum supporter Gilbert Parker supplied this specimen. For more information, call 816-235-1334.
